The awesome Björk t-shirt, from Mädels Camisetas, a brazilian duo who make screen printed tees and sell them on Flickr. Their t-shirts have lots of music and cinema references. I particularly enjoyed the milk cartridge taken from Blur's music video and the Vote for Kane t-shirt.
If you haven't seen it, don't miss this music video from Blur, Coffee and TV.
Here is a flickr set with the full catalogue of Mädels Camisetas. Their prices are incredibly low (around $10 for girls and $12 for guys) and they accept orders through Flickr.
Another t-shirt design shown in Justice's D.A.N.C.E. music clip has escaped MTV heaven and made it to real chests. I was watching the clip for the millionth time yesterday, when 33 seconds into the video I spotted Bountee's "D.A.N.C.E" t-shirt.
Yes, the same as the song. Yes, I could have figured its inspiration sooner...
Official tees from bands performing at Paredes de Coura
Click here to enlarge. Those tees who caught my eye: Dinosaur Jr, Sparta, New Young Pony Club (not shown) and CSS (or Cansei de Ser Sexy, on the left bottom corner).
Some stills from the videoclip D.A.N.C.E., by the french band Justice. The videoclip is a treat for every tee lover out there, full of awesome designs and ideas for tees. I would wear almost every tee shown.
TeeLovers is a blog about t-shirts made by people with a thing for short sleeve.
So why all the love? As Melissa Campbell put it, "it's a simple cotton garment, but it encapsulates sex, politics, high art and street style." And because there's no stronger statement than the one you wear on your chest.
