This a design by the talented Simon Massey di Vallazza, who has been featured on this blog before. I really love the simplicity and the artwork. Can you resist it?

Simon also made a more bold version (follow-up? sequel?) of this design:

I think it's awesome, and would probably wear it (easy to say, since its just a design...).

Designer spotlight

Yesterday I talked about this t-shirt from Design By Humans, After the rain comes a rainbow, being one of the best tee-designs out there. The t-shirt is by apy (aka Plard Yoann), a designer from Montréal (Canada), who also has a couple of designs on Threadless (51 designs to be exact...). He has a flare for typography and draws excellent cartoons.

Here are a couple of my favourites designs from him (on Threadless):

Love the typography on this one, called Smiles are always free.

A great take on a familiar theme, Me & me daily geometry.

"Psychedeline love" makes me curious at what picture is being used in the background.

There are lots of more where these came from in apy's threadless profile. He also has some designs at DBH and a blog, Don't worry, be apy, where he has this amazing work, called "Poésie typographique" (typographic poetry), that you just have to see.

"After the rain comes a rainbow". One of the best designs I've seen on a t-shirt for a while. Nice typography, cool comics and a good saying. ($19)

"Punkitecture". It's all about the pose. Full of punk-irony. ($19)

Design By Humans printed lots of awesome t-shirts while I was out, so consider this me catching up. Here is a batch of tees I loved (I'm going bankrupt I tell you...):

"Emo", a fantastic and colorfull celebration of Emo culture. Blades and everything. Pretty funny. Want to freak out everyone you know? It's just $19.

"The epic battle". From the designer: "whats better than an epic war between the most fierce creatures of all time!" I'm betting on the elephants, of course. ($24)

"Build". "Destroy, then build", says the designer in charge. ($19)

"1000 cranes". I have a thing for cranes since they began cropping up on t-shirts and this one really takes if over the edge. On sale for $19.

Stumbled upon these t-shirts at Insanely Great Tees. My favourite is the iShirt ($17), the tee for the iPod generation. Consumerism never made you so happy.

The Magic Eraser ($17), which features the undo shortcut on Macs and has this great tagline: "It never happened".

Every Mac lover out there will want one Heart shirt ($17).

Threadless Watch

I'm back and I'm going through all the design submissions at Threadless. Call it a hobby. I liked this one very much, called Guitar Quadruple Threat, mostly for its use of colour.

I've been out so looooooong, I've lots of e-mails to catch up. Sorry to anyone who e-mailed me and didn't get a reply. Let's see if that doesn't happen again! :-)
