Tee-critic: Your Eyes Lie

So, I first came across the Your Eyes Lie store on another t-shirt blog and found their designs really hip. I had a hard time choosing a couple of tees to buy just because they have so many things on offer. I ended  up going for Yellow Bear and Miss Green. It was incredibly expensive (I think it was the first time I payed so much for t-shirts ordered online), but I liked the designs that much.

My order arrived in the mail this week. I'm satisfied with the t-shirts, but the Yellow Bear design is different from the one shown on the site (it has a square instead of a circle) and the two t-shirts are not the same size (despite the fact they are both size S). It's not that big of a deal, but for that price, I expected being sent what I payed for.

On top of that, the order did not include a receipt and the tees smelled like they had just come off the presses (which is not very pleasant). Not impressed. I sent them an e-mail on Friday and I'm still waiting for a reply. Until then, I will not order from them again. It's a shame, because their designs are alarmingly cool.

TeeLovers is a blog about t-shirts made by people with a thing for short sleeve.
So why all the love? As Melissa Campbell put it, "it's a simple cotton garment, but it encapsulates sex, politics, high art and street style." And because there's no stronger statement than the one you wear on your chest.
